Lithium batteries have been widely applied in many uses to date, including telecommunications, national power grids and other networked systems. These network power applications require higher standards on batteries: higher energy density, more compact dimensions, longer service times, easier maintenance, improved high temperature stability, a lighter weight, and a higher reliability. Catering to TBS power solutions, battery manufacturers have shifted to batteries with newer technology – More specifically, the LiFePO4 battery. Telecommunication systems strictly require a stable and reliable power supply system. Any slight failure is likely to lead to circuit interruption, or even a breakdown of the communication system, causing enormous economic and social losses. In a TBS, LiFePO4 batteries are widely applied in DC switch power supplies; AC UPS systems; 240V/336V high voltage DC power supply systems; and a smaller UPS for monitoring and data processing systems. A complete power supply system for a TBS usually consists of batteries, an AC power source, high-low voltage distribution device, a DC converter, a UPS, and etc. Such a system offers proper power management and distribution to ensure the stable power source for TBS.
